Catch the Alice Solar City virus

13 August 2009

The number of new customers to join the Alice Solar City project skyrocketed in the month of July to 177, over three times the monthly average since the Project was launch in March 2008.

August shows no sign of slowing down either, with sign ups to the program already at 90.

Alice Solar City General Manager Brian Elmer puts it down to word of mouth; akin to an infectious virus.

“In the 18 months since the launch of the Project we have had over 1000 people sign up, and we reckon that almost every resident or business owner knows somebody else who is saving energy and money as an Alice Solar City customer.”

“Many of our new customers say they were talking to their neighbour, friend or work colleague who has told them about the benefits and great incentives on offer, and they now want a piece of the action!”

“Our monthly average is 59 new customers, so with this increase I believe we are hitting a tipping point – it is very exciting to see.”

“We are certainly flavour of the month and it’s encouraging to see how the town is responding. We are also pleased to see that the number of householders undertaking energy saving measures is increasing, and I know we are keeping the local trades people busy”.

“Our staff certainly felt the busyness of July at the Smart Living Centre and we have had to put on more staff to handle the demand.”
