Community rallies to support TIO staff

The Territory community has rallied together to support the staff of TIO and their families following the senseless attack on the Darwin branch this week.

 

A Facebook group established by Creative Territory to support TIO has been inundated with messages of support for staff. In the first 12 hours, the Facebook group attracted over 150 members and continues to grow.

 

At least 19 people were injured and five remain in hospital after a man entered the branch office on Wednesday and set fire to jerry cans of fuel and fireworks. The injured included six staff members, customers, passers-by, a policeman and others who went to the aid of the injured.

 

The attack has deeply affected all staff as well as the broader Territory community. TIO has been inundated with phone calls, emails and faxes from people offering their support for the organisation and its staff.
