Creative
Territory scoops pool at PRIA NT Awards
24 September 2007
Creative Territory
is celebrating its success after winning three awards at the NT
State Awards for Excellence awarded by the Public Relations
Institute of Australia. The Creative
Territory team won two Gold Awards and a Highly Commended Award.
Gold Award for a
Pro Bono campaign: In conjunction with Anya Lorimer from
Sprout and Michael Hawkes from Captovate, we researched,
developed, implemented and evaluated a campaign to rebrand and
promote the Darwin Speedway in 2006. The campaign saw the
NT
Sprint Cars become the “Chariots of Thunder” and a massive
increase in patronage at the Speedway. We were delighted to
carry out this work on a voluntary basis to launch the Creative
Thinktank – a unique partnership of creative brains working to
deliver the best creative work in the Territory. Download

Gold Award for
Community Relations: Last year Darwin City Council needed to
resurface Mitchell Street and wanted to make sure it had the
least impact possible on business and residents. So it
commissioned Creative Territory to work with it to keep people
informed about the works and engaged in the process. We used a
combination of old fashioned footwork and new tools, including
SMS, to get the message out there. It’s great to work with an
organisation that is committed to real consultation with the
people and businesses who will be affected by change so the best
result can be achieved for them. Darwin City Council’s
commitment has paid off with this recognition for its efforts. Download

Highly Commended
Award for Issues Management: Early this year we worked with
the Australian Department of Health and Ageing to undertake
community and stakeholder engagement as part of the rollout of
Opal Fuel in Alice Springs. The campaign included the Toyota
Trek to the Centre – a 5700 km trek across and around the
Territory with Tiwi footballer Dean Rioli to prove that
non-sniffable Opal fuel is safe and reliable. During the course
of this project we met some amazing Territorians who were
committed to stopping the tragedy of petrol sniffing. This award
belongs to all of them! Download

We believe success
comes from forming a true partnership with clients to get real
results. What really counts is that the Speedway was able to
attract more people to its events, that Mitchell Street stayed
open for business throughout the roadworks and that lives are
being saved with the introduction of Opal fuel in Alice Springs.
We are proud of the small part we have played in these projects.
State awards are
judged and benchmarked nationally and winners go on to compete
for the national Golden Target
Awards.
