Congratulations to the 2009 Central Australian Tourism Award winners
Congratulations to all winners at the recent Central Australian Tourism Awards! Our Alice Springs Manager, Laurelle Halford took out the New Tourism Innovation award for her own business, DIY Tourguide, an innovative new product that offers audio tours for self-drive travellers in the Territory.

 

Also congratulations to Mbantua Gallery who won the Primary Tourism Operator Award, sponsored by Creative Territory. Mbantua Gallery has won a Creative Territory marketing package.

Community Consultation on play spaces in the Mall
Council staff will be available to meet with members of the community to discuss children’s play spaces in the Smith Street Mall this week.Darwin City Council is considering redeveloping the play spaces in the Mall as part of the $7 million city revitalisation project.

Central Australian Art Centre celebrates 20 years of success

Three generations of Eastern Arrernte families will today celebrate the 20th anniversary of Keringke Art Centre and the growth of one of the most distinctive art styles in central Australian Aboriginal art today.

 

To coincide with the 20 year anniversary, the book Listen Deeply, Let These Stories In by renowned Eastern Arrernte painter Kathleen Kemarre Wallace, written with Judy Lovell, will be launched by singer and songwriter Paul Kelly

100 roofs to go solar in 100 days in Alice Springs

Alice Solar City has issued a solar challenge to the Alice Springs community - for 100 home or business owners to commit to installing 100 solar systems between 27 July and 27 November before funding ends on 31 December.
